Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to join the state-of-the-art Cardiac ITU Unit at The Wellington Hospital, the largest private critical care unit in the UK. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients while advancing your career in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a deputy to the Sister/Charge Nurse, providing leadership and mentorship to the nursing team.
Deliver personalized care to critically ill patients, often with a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio.
Administer medications, manage ventilation equipment, and monitor life-support systems.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
Provide emotional support to patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate approach.
What You’ll Bring:
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with valid NMC registration.
Extensive experience in an ITU/ICU setting, ideally within cardiac care.
Leadership and mentorship skills to support junior staff and manage teams in the absence of senior staff.
Completion of a 60-credit Adult Critical Care/Intensive Care Course.
